Jack Vs. The Hill

It's late June in North Texas, which means it's HOT! Very hot!!
Most evenings lately, we have been stuck inside in the comfort of the air conditioning. But, on Friday night, we decided to brave the heat and go for a family walk around the lake at Adriatica.
Jack and Sofie chose to ride their scooters, while Lily opted to walk with me and Marty and listen in on our conversation. Ha!

Mid-way through our usual route, there is a very steep hill and Jack and Sofie love to see how fast they can go down it on their scooters. Unfortunately, in the battle of Jack vs. The Hill, Jack lost. A couple of hours later, Jack was sitting in the emergency room with a splint.

He has a broken Humerus, just above the elbow. We will meet with the orthopedist early next week to see if he needs surgery. So, this weekend, we are taking some quiet family time with a movie marathon and lots of ice for J-Man. The girls love taking care of their big brother!

And for a special treat, we got him take out Mexican food from Uncle Julio's...his favorite. Jack is such a trooper and I am so amazed by his great attitude. He won't be swimming. Nor will he be climbing trees or jumping on the trampoline with his buddies on the cul-de-sac. Playing guitar is on hold for a while as well. And to add insult to injury, one of his favorite t-shirts is now completely hashed. His impact with the pavement wripped several holes all the way through the fabric. Clearly, But, even though his summer just came to a screeching halt, our J-man is still making us laugh with his silly sense of humor. Last night, he looked at me with an ornery grin and said, "I guess I am gonna lose some muscle over this." He is his father's son, folks. Always quick with a laugh.

Get well Jack!
