Jack just got back from his first experience with camp. He attended Trek Week at Camp Copass in Denton, Texas with our former church in Little Elm. It was so strange around here without our little man. I think it was hardest on Marty, since Jack's absence left Marty way outnumbered! I picked Jack up around lunch yesterday and though he wa a bit tired he talked non-stop for almost an hour about all the fun he had with his buddies at camp. It was so wonderful to hear about his busy week of canoeing, swimming, and pillow fights, but also it was great to hear about the friends he made while he was there. Listening to him, it brought back warm memories of my own experience when I went to camp at his age. Somehow, he seems older since he got back and taller too! He definitely grew while he was away. It is exciting watching this little boy grow into such an amazing young man. We are so proud of him! Still, it just wasn't the same around here when Jack was away. Marty has decided Jack doesn't get to leave home when he goes to college. Ha! I guess we still have a few years to cross that bridge, but in the meantime Marty and I are thrilled to have our family together.
A Mom, A Dad, and three kids living the Jesus life with love, laughter, and a lot of coffee. These are days to remember...

Beaver Lake

We had a wonderful 4th of July getaway at Beaver Lake in Arkansas. Marty's brother Rich owns a lake house there and we spent the weekend enjoying the beauty and wonder of the Ozark Mountains. We spent most of our days on the lake swimming in the clear, cool water. The kids especially loved jumping off the boat. It was great for Marty to reconnect with his brothers and for the kids to get acquainted once more with Marty's family. They can't wait to go back next year!
Safe in Daddy's arms, Lily was falling asleep as we headed back for dinner.
Jack loved driving the boat with the help of Uncle Rich.
Sofie is the reigning champion of the belly flop! It just looks like it should hurt! But, she kept doing it over and over laughing the whole time. Ouch!

It was great to get away, even for a short time. Here we are on the upper deck of the house saying our good-byes to Marty's family and getting ready to head back home
