(1 Chronicles 16:34)
We had a lovely Thanksgiving this year as always. Since we couldn't be in Iowa with our extended family, we spent the day with our adopted family here in Texas. Turkey and all the trimmings were wonderful, but the best part of the day were the memories of family and friends reconnecting and laughing together. Of course, we are all very grateful for our freedom and God's provision, but were reminded sweetly by our Sofie who said it best..."I am grateful for my dog and for the soldiers who keep up safe." I pray this finds you all blessed.
You may not recognize that grizzly man behind the beard, but that is Marty. He is growing a beard for Christmas Journey for church. He will be a disciple in the Garden of Gethsemane and they take their appearances very seriously at FBC. Ha! He spent some of the morning sewing his costume since he isn't married to Martha Stewart. Lily was happy to "lend a hand" with the cutting as well.
Jack is definitely growing up. This year he wasn't all that interested in the parade. But, he likes to be close to the action. So, he spent some time drawing at the table while the girls and I cooked and enjoyed the bands and balloons of Macy's.
The girls loved the parade and got especially excited about the drill teams. In this picture Sofie is dancing with our new dog, Sydney. She is such a good sport. :)
